Cape Classic A
2012 Garden Vineyards Rose
A BBQ rose if ever there were. Dark pink. Red berries, quite perfumed, medium weight, ripe berried fruit in the mouth with hints of tannin, good acidity – finishes dry and crisp.
2012 DMZ Sauvignon Blanc
A true crossover of New and Old World Sauvignon styles: Pale, gold, green, with a nose reminiscent of a toned down Marlborough SB, blackcurrants, hints of lime also. Quite high-toned exotic fruits in the mouth, vibrant acidity almost Sancerre-like.
Our Price £36.99
Luxury Loire B
2011 Sancerre Blanc, Dom. des Clairneaux
A delicious, stylish, balanced Sancerre that drinks beautifully early on and develops well with age. Quite a ripe style for Sancerre with almost New Zealand like gooseberry fruit along with pear and apple.
Sancerre Rouge, Dom. des Clairneaux
Pure Pinot Noir, with lovely red berry fruit, savoury, earthy notes and a clean finish. Lovely lighter sipping.
Our Price £54.99
Cape Classic C
2011 DMZ Syrah
This is one of the best South African Syrahs I have tasted for a while. It is distinctly Syrah , deeply coloured with nose of ripe berries, earth, spice – touch of spring flowers also. Lovely mouthfeel, ripe, whole red and black fruits, spice, peppercorns and good oak integration. The finish is medium long and balanced.
2012 Garden Vineyards Rose
A BBQ rose if ever there were. Dark pink. Red berries, quite perfumed, medium weight, ripe berried fruit in the mouth with hints of tannin, good acidity – finishes dry and crisp.
Our Price £34.99
Bordeaux Class
Ch. Poitevin, Medoc
Ch. Poitevin’s gravel-based soils farmed with minimal intervention gives a Left Bank Bordeaux wine of great typicity, vinified with up-to-date techniques. More or less 50/50 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, a pinch of Petit Verdot, with 14 months in barrel. A superb harvest in Bordeaux.
2008 Ch. La Rose-Pourret, St. Emilion Grand Cru
The Warion family have owned the 8 hectare property for over a century, and these immaculate sandy, iron-rich vineyards lie in the shadow of the famous clock tower just outside the town walls. Merlot makes up 70% of the plantings, with Cabernet Franc and a small amount of Cab.
Our Price £54.99
